The Department of Economics is one of the first six Departments established with the inauguration of the University (North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong) in 1974. Initially the Department was placed under the School of Social Sciences. After the reorganization of Schools it was brought under the School of Economics, Management and Information Sciences in 1994.
The Electronic Archive: We intend and plan to devise a system in order to store every relevant information regarding the Department that may in future provide the records of the past.
